Your image is your business

It is very hard to own your own business or be a business professional and not be judged by your image. I love to wear pj pants out. I have 2 kids and i am exhausted most of time getting up early and getting errands done. The thing is, i also know that if i am out i want to meet new people to hopefully become my clients to work with. Now if the version of me with pajama pants and all came up to someone and handed me a business card this is what i would think. They were lazy, didn't care about their appearance, had to much going on, is overwhelmed...etc you get the point. As much as this is how i want to walk out the house i am not going to attract the clients i want like this. How people see you is how they relate your business. This applies to meeting you for the first time and even images online.
Every business professional should have a good professional shot on their website, blog anywhere else clients may see you. Make is more personal even just keep it professional. You like to have a good time? Maybe have a shot with lots of colors more contrast and a fun family shot. This is more personal and will make you more relate-able. If you do work where you are more to yourself but want people to see a professional image of you go for a headshot.

Most photographers offer sessions that you can get a a couple images for your site to use. DO this, you may have to make a small investment but think of it as an investment on yourself. You are what people see.
